We tried using PEG-terminated QDs (no COOH, no NH2) and we find that non-specific binding is concentration dependent. Also, we found very little nonspecific binding for cell surface labeling, but increased labeling when intracellular structures are labeled (top). This is more »

On Monday, I mounted and coverslipped the alpha-actinin/alexa488 muscle fibers I stained last week. They were stored in PBS solution in the fridge over the weekend. Both the fixed and unfixed alexa labelled muscle fibers retained their fluorescence pretty well. more »
